Like any other live-service game, Skull and Bones has a battle pass, AKA the Smuggler Pass. As a part of the battle pass system, the game has an item called the Smuggler Pass Token, and here’s everything you need to know about it.
What is the Smuggler Pass Token in Skull and Bones?
The Smuggler Pass Token is an item you can use to purchase one of Skull and Bones‘ premium battle passes. It can be acquired as a part of the premium edition or purchased separately in the game’s shop. The Tokens you already own are not tied to a specific season. So, you could always hold onto the Token and save it for a later battle pass if the contents of the current one don’t appeal to you.
Keep in mind, the premium Smuggler Pass only includes cosmetic items, like Captain Cosmetics, Sail Colors, and ship cosmetics. Gameplay rewards, including the Braque support ship and the Carronade cannons, are available in the free tiers of the Smuggler Pass.
The same goes for seasonal content and events. All new bosses, world events, and contracts are available regardless of whether you redeemed the Smuggler Pass Token or not.
How to redeem Smuggler Pass Tokens in Skull and Bones
To redeem the Smuggler Pass Token in Skull and Bones, you first need to unlock the Smuggler Pass itself. You can do that by talking to the seasonal vendor. In season one, it’s William Blackwood, located at Saint-Anne.
After you’ve unlocked the Smuggler Pass, follow these steps to redeem the Token:
- Head to the Skull and Bones Store in the pause menu.
- Go to the Smuggler Pass tab.
- Select the Premium Pass option and redeem the Smuggler Pass Token.
Now you can get back to playing, and start unlocking all the seasonal rewards available in the battle pass.
How Smuggler Pass works in Skull and Bones
To progress through the Smuggler Pass, you have to earn Smuggler’s Marks by completing challenges and gaining infamy. Every challenge gives you SP, and every 1,000 SP gives you a Smuggler’s Mark to spend on rewards, including premium ones obtainable with the Smuggler Pass Token.
The Smuggler Pass in Skull and Bones looks slightly different from what we are used to. As opposed to there being one progression path, there are three smaller ones: Quartermaster, Gunner Master, and Shipmaster. Each path has its own cosmetic and gameplay rewards.
Select the path and start redeeming Smuggler’s Marks to unlock rewards. After unlocking 45 rewards across all paths, you can get the Barque ship bundle. Once the Smuggler Pass is complete, you can also claim the Skelly Welly pet bundle.
